Sunday's message really hit me hard. It was about love...and I know every pastor's message somehow is about love, but this one was different. Trinity's message was based around John 11, and I say "around" because I'm not of those Christians who brings their Bible with them every Sunday...just to be honest. Anyway, Jesus was coming to Jerusalem during Passover. This is where he rides in on a donkey and people grab palm branches and shout, "Hosanna!". During this time Israel was under Roman rule, so they were looking for someone to rise up and deliver them from their oppression; "hosanna", literally translated, means "save us now!". We all know that Jesus never fulfilled their demands of being a military/political leader. Trinity's ultimate point was that we, as Christians, sometimes have our own agenda for Jesus; it becomes no longer about love and Jesus. This is what hit me: I have tried for so long to get people to realize this, that it has become my own agenda! It's the title of this blog! I'm starting to look at Christianity the same way I look at the world; it's not about me and my agenda. It feels good to know God has me where he wants me...and that is what church is about.
